Course Description:
How can you operate a car virtually? How can you best attune a technical application to human thought? Artificial intelligence studies intelligence on the basis of different disciplines: cognitive psychology, computing science, linguistics, logic and philosophy. Using knowledge from these disciplines you design “intelligent”, user friendly products. In the Bachelor’s degree programme in Artificial Intelligence you learn to bridge the gap between technology, people and society. You consider the rules that provide the basis for human thought, artificial thought by robots or computers, as well as thought within social systems. Once you know the rules, you simulate them in a model and incorporate them into a system. You learn how to program and design. You develop a broad perspective and learn how to reason logically.
You focus on the four areas of artificial intelligence:
- Cognitive ergonomics
- autonomous systems
- linguistics / speech technology
- knowledge technology
always tested in hands-on practicals. It’s not just about thinking, but also about doing.
Artificial intelligence teaches you to consider things from various perspectives and provides excellent communication skills. That is extremely valuable to many businesses and institutions. Examples
include: The corporate sector, e.g. in Research & Development, knowledge technologist, often working for institutions with large databases and/or self-employed.
