NHTV Breda has recently announced an international orientation event exclusively for British and Irish students. The event will be run by the Academy for Digital Entertainment (mADE) on 6-7 November 2015 in Breda, the Netherlands. All expenses associated with students’ stay in Breda are covered during the event, including 2 hotel nights, breakfasts and dinners. The only thing you need to pay for is your flight and other travel costs.

NHTV Breda’s initiative follows a growing interest from British students in media degrees at Dutch universities. British student Jasmine Smith explained why she chose International Media & Entertainment Management programme at NHTV: “I wanted a new adventure and a new challenge, so I did some online research on various different universities abroad which offer the course I am interested in; this is where I stumbled across NHTV Breda in The Netherlands!”. While media degrees are offered at many UK institutions, high tuition fee is one of the most important factors that affect Brits’ decision not to stay at home.  “The price of universities in the UK completely put me off studying there… it is much, much cheaper to study here in The Netherlands, which is definitely a bonus”, Jasmine emphasised.

The upcoming International Orientation Days at NHTV offer prospective media students the opportunity to learn more about the city of Breda and the university with current students as their guide. A welcome dinner with all international students in Breda has also been scheduled for the Friday evening. You can also attend NHTV’s general Open Day on Saturday 7th November without extra registration.

If you are serious about studying in the Netherlands, Laura Court-Jones, now a third year media student at NHTV, believes it is the best way for you to learn all about it: “Orientation was great fun and well organised and you only pay for your flight pretty much! Assistance from the university here is great and if you have any questions you can approach a number of desks. At camp there were older students made me feel welcome and gave me some useful tips and advice.”

If you are interested in booking a place at NHTV’s International Media Orientation Days, please send an email to orientationdays@nhtv.nl as soon as possible so that the University can advise you on all practical matters (agenda, hotel booking, etc). If you let us know of your interest we will be happy to help but we cannot guarantee you a place on the event.
