HANZE University of Applied Sciences embraced growing international student population

On the 1st and 2nd September 2016, Hanze University of Applied Sciences welcomed over 950 new overseas students during their Welcome Day event in Groningen. The significant increase in the enrollment of international students was driven by the continuous effort of the university to create an open and diverse learning environment.

In the 2016/17 academic year, Hanze University of Applied Sciences offers 14 English-taught undergraduate programmes in a variety of subjects, from Game Design to Physiotherapy. The university has recently confirmed the launch of a brand new Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, starting in September 2017. This is fantastic news for British students who are looking for a course with a focus on the technical side of engineering and the opportunity to acquire entrepreneurial skills.

To accommodate the growing international student population on campus, Hanze University of Applied Sciences organised an exlusive introduction event for them at the beginning of the academic year. The two-day Welcome Day event gave first year students the chance to get a real taste of Dutch culture and make new friends. The programme included introductory speeches of the Executive Board and other representatives of the university, an information market, an introduction to Dutch culture, lunch and sessions on important practical issues for international students, helping the attendees to make very first steps to settle down in Groningen.

The new recruitment cycle of Hanze University of Applied Sciences will start very soon. Check our website regularly for more information about new courses and application deadlines at the University.
