Are you interested in how art institutions impact our quality of life? Do you want to know how films or pop music mediate consciousness, or how we use the arts to express emotions? Do you enjoy uncovering the narratives of theatre, fiction or film? Or examining the structures of different genres, from classical sonatas to blues songs?

Why study Arts, Culture and Media with the University of Groningen?

Our Arts, Culture and Media Bachelor's programme will offer you the perfect combination of theory and practice, as well as a solid understanding of various art forms, from Music and Film to Literature and the Visual Arts. We place a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary learning.

You will be able to choose among two specialisations: Analysis and Criticism or Policy and Marketing. Depending on your area of interest, you can choose to focus on two among the following three art forms: Music, Film and Theatre.

In your third year, you will organise an art event, such as a music festival or a theatre production. You will take care of all aspects of the event, from the theoretical concept to funding and promotion.

How to apply

The minimum entry requirements for this programme are three A-levels.
