From September 2018, HAN University of Applied Sciences will start offering the "Embedded Systems" track in English to students of the Master's programme "Engineering Systems". The specialisation aims to trains students to design and implement smart distributed systems that are low cost, energy efficient and can solve tasks cooperatively.

Following this track would allow you to gain knowledge and develop skills in the following areas:

  • Design and implement architectures for distributed embedded systems, innovation services and advanced algorithms to solve complex tasks
  • Model and validate complex non-linear systems with multiple inputs and outputs using UML and/or SysML, black box modelling and system identification
  • Create a digital feedback controller for a linear physical system and to apply control strategies

Career prospects

Having a Master's degree in "Engineering Systems" with a specialisation in "Embedded Systems" opens the door to many interesting career paths. The content delivered in the track is developed based on the constant interaction between the faculty and their industrial partners. As a result, upon graduation you will be well prepared to participate in projects that involve developing innovative electronic products using microcontrollers. Using customer requirements and specifications, embedded software/hardware developers build the electronic software and hardware that make up a high-tech product.

Entry requirements

The programme is open to anyone with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline and a minimum of GPA 2.8 out of 4.0.
