Course description
In today’s world, where international brands are flooding the market and global competition is fierce, a qualified Communication manager is essential. The necessity of good external and internal communication strategies in any organization is stronger than ever.
The Bachelor of Communication programme at HAN trains students to become specialists in the field of business, marketing and communication. They learn to formulate strategic communication plans and draw up a research plan.
Furthermore, students learn about advertising, digital media, design and public relations, to establish a good knowledge in all aspect of the profession. The international orientation of the study is revealed in the content of the lectures and the projects. In order to expand the international experience, students spend part of their study abroad, studying at one of our partner universities, doing a work placement and the graduation assignment at a company anywhere in the world.
Practical approach
During the 1st semester of the 3rd year, students will do a work placement, which will give them the chance to work within a multinational company.
In the 2nd semester of this 3rd year, students will expand their knowledge by studying abroad for a semester.
The final step of the course is embarked on during the 2nd semester of the 4th year, which is a graduation assignment within a multinational company or at an advertising/PR agency, governmental institution, commercial company, and non-profit organization.

Examples of functions after finishing the Communication course are: account director, marketing communication manager, public relations manager and corporate communication manager.
Application
The application follows the same procedure as for our other Bachelors and it starts with applying through Studielink and further with the HAN Admissions Office.
The application requirements are sufficient scores in Mathematics and diploma of secondary education (General Certificate of Secondary Education – A level or International Baccalaureate).
