This programme prepares students for the field of Logistics and Economics. The main focus throughout this course is process optimisation. Logistics Management is a broad professional field in which economically oriented logistics experts focus on process optimisation in organizations and chains. International Logistics Management is one of the best programmes in its field in the Netherlands according to the Higher Education Choice Guide (October 2011).

The programme: what can you expect?

During the first year, students will become familiar with the logistical processes. Subjects covered will include intercultural communication, management and warehousing. The second year will focus on students applying their knowledge to real-life cases. Furthermore, students will learn about HR management, business economics and procurement. The third-year enables students to participate in an internship where they will learn valuable skills by working for a real-life company. Students will also get the chance to choose what specialisation they would like to enrol in, the specialisations take place in the Netherlands or at one of our NHL Stenden campuses in Qatar, Thailand, Bali or South Africa. The course will be completed by students taking on a final year project that focuses on a specific problem that a real-life company is facing.

What can I become?

A bachelor degree in International Logistics Management will enable students to take on the management of essential business processes. International Logistics Management is a programme with a national or international future. Companies, government authorities and non-profit organisations require graduates with a degree in logistics. The Netherlands is proud of its reputation for a healthy environment for investment for international companies and its role as logistic hub in Europe

“I’d always wanted to take over my father’s transport company. I now run it with my sister. Planning, estimations, management: I can fill in anywhere. The Logistics and Economics programme has given me an extremely broad background, so if I need to, I can organise everything from A to Z.”

Jaap Wigchers, owner of Wigchers International Transport B.V.
